Broward County Public Schools has introduced a new online platform called Broward Powered by AI, aimed at showing how the district is bringing artificial intelligence into classrooms. The hub is designed to give students, teachers, and families a clear look at the district's current AI projects, as well as the rules and training that guide their use.
The launch comes as the district continues to expand its use of technology in daily instruction. School officials say the new site will serve as a central point for updates on AI tools being tested or used in schools, including tutoring programs, writing assistants, and administrative tools that help teachers save time. The hub also includes resources for students to learn about AI basics, such as how the technology works and how to use it responsibly.
District leaders say the goal is not just to adopt new tools but to make sure everyone understands how they are being used and why. They also want to address concerns about privacy, accuracy, and fairness. The hub includes a section on ethics and safety, with guidelines for students and staff on what is acceptable when using AI for schoolwork.
Broward has been working on AI integration for some time, with pilot programs in several schools. The new hub is part of a broader effort to prepare students for a job market where AI skills are becoming more common. The district says it will keep updating the site as new tools and policies are developed.
Parents and community members can also use the hub to see what their children are learning and to provide feedback. School officials say they expect the platform to grow over time, with more features and resources added in the coming months.
